The most visited aqua parks are situated in the Algarve (Slide & Splash, Aqualand Big One).
Some have animals to look at, get to know better or to play in the water, such as Zoomarine and Aqua Show Family Park.
All parks have well-kept recreational areas, restaurants and some even have accommodation options.
Between Faro and Tavira you will find a 60 km long belt of islands with a lagoon behind it, in 1987 it was declared a nature park. It covers around 18,000 hectares and consists of a labyrinth of marshes, islets and canals. It is an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the tourist centers. Ria Formosa is 1 of the 7 natural wonders in Portugal. You can find more information on the website www.formosamar.com
